These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of babyu.net and its articles, images, comments, links, and other materials (collectively, the “Site”). The Site is operated under the BabyU name.

By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

1. Intended audience

BabyU is intended for adults, including parents, caregivers, and early-years professionals. It is not directed to children. If you are under the age at which you can legally agree to online terms where you live, use the Site only with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian.

2. Educational information only

BabyU provides general educational and editorial information about play, activities, materials, products, and environments for babies and toddlers. The Site does not provide medical, feeding, allergy, developmental, occupational-therapy, childcare, legal, or emergency advice. Nothing on the Site creates a professional-client, clinician-patient, or advisory relationship.

Online information cannot account for an individual child’s health, development, abilities, allergies, feeding skills, environment, or behavior. Ask an appropriately qualified professional for advice about an individual child. For a suspected poisoning, choking event, serious injury, allergic reaction, or other emergency, stop using the Site and contact local emergency services or the appropriate poison-control service immediately.

3. Adult judgment and supervision

An age label, activity category, illustration, adaptation, or safety note is not a guarantee that an activity or material is appropriate for a particular child. The supervising adult is responsible for deciding whether to offer an activity and for adapting or stopping it as circumstances change.

Before starting an activity, the responsible adult should:

• consider the child’s current mobility, mouthing behavior, feeding skills, allergies, sensory preferences, and ability to follow directions;
• inspect materials, toys, furniture, containers, and the surrounding area;
• read and follow manufacturer instructions, age grading, warnings, and recall remedies;
• remove choking, poisoning, strangulation, drowning, tip-over, burn, and entrapment hazards;
• provide active, close, and appropriate supervision; and
• stop the activity if a material breaks, the environment changes, or the child uses an item in an unsafe way.

Statements such as “taste-safe,” “edible,” “non-toxic,” or “washable” do not mean that a material should be eaten, is free from allergy risk, is safe in every quantity, or will not stain every surface. Check ingredients, labels, and individual needs before use.

4. Accuracy, sources, and updates

We work to make BabyU content clear, useful, and supported by suitable sources. However, guidance, product availability, recalls, external pages, and standards can change. Content may contain errors or become outdated. Publication or update dates do not guarantee that every linked source or product detail remains current.

You should verify time-sensitive safety information with the relevant manufacturer, government agency, recall database, or qualified professional before relying on it. Please report a suspected error through the Contact BabyU page.

5. No guarantee of results

Children respond differently to the same activity. BabyU does not guarantee that a child will enjoy an activity, develop a particular skill, remain engaged for a stated period, or achieve a particular learning, behavioral, sensory, or developmental outcome.

Photos and illustrations are examples. Actual materials, colors, scale, room conditions, and results will vary. A visually appealing setup is never more important than suitability and safety.

6. Products, advertising, sponsorships, and affiliate links

The Site may mention or link to products for identification, comparison, or convenience. A product mention is not a warranty, certification, or guarantee that the item is available, defect-free, compliant in every jurisdiction, or suitable for every child.

BabyU may display advertising, publish sponsored material, receive a product for review, or use affiliate links. When a commercial relationship could affect how a reasonable reader understands a recommendation, we will aim to disclose it clearly near the relevant content. Advertising does not give an advertiser control over BabyU’s general editorial standards.

Purchases and interactions with third parties are between you and that third party. Review the seller’s current price, shipping terms, returns, warranties, safety information, and privacy practices before completing a transaction.

7. External websites and services

The Site links to external sources, agencies, organizations, retailers, and other websites. Links are provided for reference and convenience. BabyU does not control and is not responsible for an external site’s accuracy, availability, content, security, products, accessibility, terms, or privacy practices.

A link does not necessarily mean that BabyU endorses every statement, service, or product on the linked website. You access third-party services at your own discretion and subject to their terms.

8. Intellectual property and permitted use

Unless otherwise stated, the Site’s original text, organization, graphics, branding, and other original materials are owned by or licensed to BabyU and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

You may access and use the Site for personal, non-commercial, informational purposes. You may print or save a reasonable portion of an article for your own household, classroom planning, or professional reference, provided you do not remove attribution or notices.

Without prior written permission, you may not:

• republish, reproduce, translate, sell, license, or distribute a substantial part of the Site;
• copy articles or images to create a competing website, content library, dataset, newsletter, product, or publication;
• present BabyU content as your own or remove authorship and source information;
• use automated systems to scrape or extract content at a volume that burdens the Site or substitutes for visiting it; or
• use BabyU names, logos, or visual identity in a way that suggests endorsement or affiliation.

Short quotations for commentary, criticism, teaching, or reporting may be permitted by applicable law when accompanied by appropriate attribution and a link to the original page. To request broader permission, email contact@babyu.net.

9. Comments and other submissions

If comments or other submission features are available, you are responsible for what you submit. Do not submit content that:

• reveals private or sensitive information about a child or another person;
• is unlawful, threatening, abusive, harassing, discriminatory, obscene, or intentionally misleading;
• infringes copyright, privacy, publicity, trademark, or another person’s rights;
• contains spam, undisclosed promotion, malicious code, or deceptive links; or
• creates a safety risk or impersonates another person or organization.

You retain ownership of original content you submit. By posting it publicly on the Site, you give BabyU a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, format, display, and distribute that submission as necessary to operate, moderate, archive, and promote the relevant Site page. This license ends when the submission is deleted from active publication, except for reasonable backups, legal records, and material already shared with your authorization.

We may review, refuse, edit for formatting, close, or remove submissions at our discretion, but we are not required to monitor every submission. Publication of a comment does not mean BabyU agrees with or verifies it.

10. Prohibited use

You may not use the Site to:

• violate law or another person’s rights;
• attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data;
• introduce malware, interfere with security, or disrupt Site operation;
• send spam or collect personal information without authorization;
• misrepresent your identity or affiliation;
• manipulate advertising interactions or generate invalid traffic; or
• encourage unsafe conduct involving a child.

We may restrict access, remove material, or take other reasonable steps when we believe these Terms, law, security, or another person’s rights are at risk.

11. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how information, cookies, comments, advertising technologies, and privacy requests are handled. By using the Site, you acknowledge that internet transmissions and third-party services involve risks that cannot be eliminated completely.

12. Site availability and changes

We may correct, update, reorganize, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Site. We do not guarantee that the Site, an article, a comment feature, or an external link will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or free of errors.

We may also change these Terms. The “Last updated” date identifies the latest version. Continued use of the Site after revised Terms take effect means you accept the revised Terms to the extent permitted by law.

13. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. BabyU does not warrant that the content is complete, error-free, suitable for a particular purpose, or appropriate for every child or setting.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions. In those jurisdictions, the exclusions apply only to the extent permitted by law, and mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, BabyU and the people involved in operating or contributing to the Site will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss arising from reliance on Site content, inability to access the Site, third-party services, user submissions, or activities undertaken after reading the Site.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability where a mandatory law provides otherwise. Your statutory and consumer rights remain available where applicable.

15. Severability and no waiver

If a court or other competent authority finds part of these Terms unenforceable, that part will be limited or removed only to the extent necessary, and the remaining Terms will continue to apply. A failure to enforce a provision once does not waive the right to enforce it later.

16. Entire agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any additional notice displayed for a particular feature, form the agreement concerning use of the Site. Our Editorial Policy explains our publishing standards but does not create a professional relationship or guarantee a particular outcome.
